About Us

The Canadian Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel was founded in 2011 by a group of Canadian citizens with a desire to help protect Israel's treasured and threatened natural features by working with Israel's oldest NGO, HaKhevra L'Haganat HaTeva (Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, or SPNI). The goal of CSPNI is to raise awareness and funds to support the activities of SPNI in Israel.

SPNI is dedicated to working with all facets of the Israeli population to provide nature education, stewardship of natural areas, research into environmental issues, and co-operative activism. Over 60 years of work, SPNI has become a household name in Israel. Its many field schools host thousands of Israeli youth each year, and its well known campaigns to protect Israel's scarce and beautiful land and nature have earned the affection of generations of Israeli citizens, both Jewish and Arab.
